Calvin Roy Boswell, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was born August 16, 1919 in Logan, Utah, to Stephen Roy Boswell and Zina Armina Huff. He married Coral Curtis on August 21, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 65 years together.
Calvin graduated from Richfield High School in Richfield, Utah, and received a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, engineering and horticulture from BYU. While at BYU he was a member of the BYU Glee Club, played bass drum in the band and viola in the Symphony Orchestra.
At the beginning of World War II he had a government job for Columbia Steel Defense Plant Division and directed the construction of Geneva Steel in Orem, the Coal Mine at Horse Canyon, Dolomite Quarry in Payson and the Iron Oar Mine in Cedar City.
Dad served as an officer in the US Navy. After the war he was a Landscape Architect for the L.D.S. Church, designing landscape plans for Wards, Temples and many church office buildings. He owned his own Landscape Construction business for 25 years and became a General Contractor in the 1970s. Dad worked until age 91, building hundreds of homes, businesses and dairies, and served in many church callings. His hobbies were traveling, photography, music, work and family.
Dad is survived by 3 sons, Stephen (Karena), Pocatello, ID; David (Elge), Germany, Gary (Carolyn), Park City, Utah; and a daughter, Deanna Eaker, Orem; Seven Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: George Maurice and Stephen Ralph; 2 sisters: Ruth Lambert and Priscilla Baird. He was preceded in death by his wife Coral, his parents, brothers: Eugene and Howard, and sisters: Gladys Fredrickson, Maurine Gunn and Phyllis Louise; also a grandson Justin Boswell.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Sharon Stake Center 545 South 800 East, Orem. Family and friends may call at a viewing held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem , and from Monday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City (Use the 33rd South Entrance).
