William Wright Taylor, son of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Forrester Lore Taylor of Philadelphia, PA, was named for Dr William Wright of that city. Forrester worked for Dr Wright at his factory in Burlington, NJ at the time of his enlistment in the Civil War. Forrester served with the 23rd NJ and the 34th NJ.

His older sister, Kate Hoffman Taylor, died in 1868 of pneumonia, two years prior to his birth. It is interesting to note the incorrect names on Kate's death certificate. Her father's name is listed as her paternal grandfather's name ("Charles" for Charles L Taylor), and her mother's name is listed as her maternal grandmother's name ("Kate" for Catharine Hoffman). Perhaps whoever provided the information was out-of-sorts with grief, and misunderstood the doctor's questions. Kate is said to be buried at Odd Fellows, though this is unconfirmed due to reported removals and reinternments elsewhere.
