Eva R. Barrett, 77, of Lafayette, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at her residence.
Born Aug. 15, 1933, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Mary Rose Harris Peden and the stepdaughter of the late Otis Peden. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School.
She married Donald E. Barrett on Dec. 4, 1953, and he died Oct. 4, 1989.
Mrs. Barrett did bookkeeping and child care and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, animals and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Bryan Barrett of Shelbyville; a daughter, Kelly Barrett of Lafayette; two brothers, Ray Peden and Donald Peden (wife: Vivian), both of Lafayette; and a sister, Ruth Halsema of Mesa, Ariz.
Services are Monday in Lafayette.
