Lurane Tune's parents David T. Tune and Phoebe Castile Tune both died in 1863. David died 28 Feb 1863 in Memphis, Tennessee while serving the Union in the Civil War. Phoebe died shortly after on 01 May 1863 in Maries County, Missouri. Lurane's date of birth is taken from the Bounty & Pension record of deceased father David Tune.

Lurane's paternal grandmother was Lurana "Rainey" Scurlock Tune of Halifax, Virginia, for whom I imagine she was named. Her paternal grandfather was William Tune of Halifax, Virginia who died circa 1831.

After the death of her parents, Lurane and her other four minor siblings were placed in the care of family and administrators of her parents estate.

Lurane married Joseph Bateman, circa 1882, likely in Missouri. They had one known child, daughter Mary Lillie Bateman Scott.

May you rest in peace.

Note - Mary C. Bateman, whose name is also on the stone, was Lurane's mother-in-law.
