She was the daughter of Arthur H. and Zelma P. Cordwell. She is survived by 2 sons, Jeffrey and Christopher as well as five grandchildren.
Claire had been employed by NJ Bell telephone and also worked in New York City in marketing and public relations. Later in life she became a high school English and French teacher in the Verona, NJ public shools. She was also a guidance counselor there.
After retirement, Claire was a volunteer for a variety of local organizations and charities.
