She was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church; Past Honored Queen of Bethel #5 International Order of Job's Daughters; past President Portsmouth Council PTA; Past Director of the Tidewater District PTA; served several years on the Virginia Congress of Parents and Teachers State Board; holds Honorary Membership in the Virginia Congress and National Congress of Parents and Teachers; Past Royal Matron of Cavalier Court #6 Order of Amaranth in Portsmouth, Past Grand Royal Matron Order of Amaranth in the Commonwealth of Virginia; served several years as Deputy Supreme Royal Matron for the Supreme Council Order of Amaranth; member of Zulekia Court #35 Ladies Oriental Shrine, and member of Al Kena Temple #124 Daughters of the Nile. Left to cherish her memory is her son, John H. Epperson and wife Rosemary; grandchildren, Erin Epperson, Kristin Brown and husband Thomas, Kerry Willcox and husband James.
