Bessie P. Sharp, 78, Lincoln, died Tuesday morning, July 28, 1998, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born in Crain on December 18, 1919, the daughter of Robert Ernest and Willie Elizabeth Lawrence Rowland. In the early 1940s, she was married to Clifford W. Morris. They had made their home in Kansas City. She had been employed as a store clerk for Harry's Distressed Merchandise store in Kansas city, Kansas, for several years. They moved to Warsaw in 1974. Her husband, Clifford, preceded her in death on May 4, 1976. For a short time she was married to Edward Sharp. He also preceded her in death. She had made her home with Robert Jenkins near Lincoln since 1980. She loved life. She enjoyed fishing and traveling and bluegrass music. She and Bob had enjoyed traveling to bluegrass concerts and she was most happy with the simple pleasures of life. She is survived by her companion, Bob Jenkins of the home; one son, Duane Morris, Warsaw; two grandsons, Paul William Morris, Foxlake, Illinois, and Michael Shane Morris, Kansas City; one granddaughter, Shannon Morris, Kansas City; two step-grandchildren, Debbie Johnson and Tracy McDaniels, both of Lee's Summit; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jonathan Rowland of Savannah, Robert E. Rowland of Kansas City, and Birchie Rowland of Aurora; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services and burial will be held Friday July 31, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor.
