Calvin J. Flaugh Jr., 84, East Freedom, passed away Tuesday at home.

He was born in East Freedom, son of the late Calvin Sr. and Pearl (Croyle) Flaugh. He first married Alma Walls on June 30, 1950, and she passed away Sept. 29, 1995. He then married Betty (Aungst) Walls on May 18, 1997.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Dennis and wife, Yvonne, and Jerry, all of East Freedom; three grandchildren: Jamie Barr, Michael Flaugh and Melissa Rhodes; four great-grandchildren: McCaily, Jonathan, MJ and Aiden; three sisters: Dorothy Benton and Nancy Glunt, both of East Freedom, and Shirley Fether of Duncansville; two brothers: Paul of Williamsburg and Don of East Freedom; and two stepchildren: Lisa Busch and Kim Walls.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Rae Flaugh; two sisters: Betty Aungst and JoAnne Croyle; a brother, Clair Eugene; and two stepchildren: Robert and Kevin Walls.

Calvin retired as a superintendent from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. in 1988. He was a member of Leamersville Grace Brethren Church, a charter member and past chief of the Freedom Township Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Altoona Area Model Train Club. He also served as Freedom Township supervisor for 14 years.

Calvin enjoyed hunting, especially for spring gobblers, farming and model train collecting.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Leamersville Grace Brethren Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, Pastors Mark Lingenfelter and Roger Myers officiating. Interment will be at Claysburg Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Camp Mantowagan, 2671 Camp Lane, P.O. Box 95, Saxton, PA 16678.
