Survived by his wife, Blanche; a son, Merrill L.; brother of Mrs. Bernice Streeter, Mrs. Ethel Cutting, and Carl Austin; 1 grandson, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Phillips in the Hills Church. Interment South Lawn Memorial Park. Arizona Mortuary.

TUCSON, Ariz. [UPI] -- Funeral services will be held Friday for Gerald W. Austin, 74, formerly a prominent northern New York businessman, who died Wednesday after a brief illness.
Austin formerly lived in Watertown, N. Y., where he founded and headed the Austin Ice Cream Co. until it was sold to the Borden Co. in 1953.
