Dorthey Maxfield Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 17, 2011 of natural causes at the Davis Hospital.

She was born December 6, 1927 to Everett and Afton Maxfield.

Dorthey grew up in Lyman, Wyoming where she met the love of her life, Joseph W. Anderson, in the 7th grade. Throughout her school years, she enjoyed all types of school sports as well as being voted Prom Queen. She married Joseph Anderson in June, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She dedicated her life to her husband and family.

Dorthey is survived by her husband Joe, nine children, Sharon (Bruce) Foust, Debra Scott, Patsy Jo (Jerry) Coon, Marty (Georgia) Anderson, Cindy (Kenneth) Anderson, Bonnie Anderson, Jody (Cynthia) Anderson, Doug (Sandra) Anderson, and Kristie (Steve) Silvester. She found joy and happiness in her family, 40 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mom was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan and Judy, and one son, Ernest. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and granddaughter, Dawn.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Farmington Bay Dialysis Center. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice doctors and nurses at Davis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21st at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse 1st Ward Chapel, 700 South 2500 West.

The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lyman, Wyoming.
