Big Sandy--Dorothy A. Berglund, 77, a former teacher, died Friday at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Christ Lutheran Church in Big Sandy.
She was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Kenilworth and grew up on the homestead west of Big Sandy. She graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1933. She received a degree in Business Education from the University of Montana in 1937, then did some post-graduate work at the University of Southern California.
She taught school at Willow Creek, Red Lodge, Joplin, Havre, Harlem and Big Sandy. In 1947, she married Alf Berglund and they lived and worked on a farm in the Big Sandy area until his death in 1967. She moved to Big Sandy in 1970.
She is survived by two daughters, Edean Berglund of Olympia, Wash., and Barbara Berglund of Billings; and a sister, Emma Kulbeck of Big Sandy.
