MINNIE BELLE ALLEN

Minnie Belle Allen, the daughter of Samuel D. and Margaret I. Walker, was born in Owen county on April 7, 1875, and departed this life July 25, 1932, at her home near Morgantown, Indiana, at the age of 57 years, 3 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage October 26, 1904 to Hugh Allen and to this union was born two children. Walker Benjamin and Ruth Marie.

She was united with the New Hope Baptist church at the age of 15 and lived a faithful Christian life unto the end. She has been in failing health for years having been bedfast for two months. She bore her sufferings patiently. She was conscious to the end and talked with relatives and friends saying she was ready to go and departed this life with a smile.

She leaves to mourn her departure her companion, two children and one grandchild, Betty Lou Barrow, a mother, Mary Walker and two brothers, Luther Walker and Clyde Roy Walker, both of near Spencer, two sisters, Onnie Mae Messick of Bicknell and Ruth Miller of Freedom. Two brothers preceded her in death several years ago, namely Will and John. She also leaves a large circle of neighbors and friends to mourn her death.
