Naomi was the fifth of six daughters. She graduated from White Haven High School. In 1949 she married William Bierbach, and the couple raised four daughters and two sons. She was employed by B.F. Goodrich Company, then by Green's Lamp Factory, and later by Pomeroy's in the Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-Barre.
