Funeral services for Harold Ballinger, 74, of Fort Smith, Ark., will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Sallisaw with Bros. Roy Raines and Chris Benjamin officiating.
Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Mr. Ballinger was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Sallisaw, to John William Ballinger and Maud (Askins) Ballinger. He died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Fort Smith.
Mr. Ballinger was a retired Industrial Arts Teacher at Stigler High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Church of Christ.
He married Lola Briley, Aug. 4, 1956.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Ballinger of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Patty Ballinger of Chickasha and Ellery and Kim Ballinger of Muskogee; six grandchildren, Nathan and Katie Ballinger, Austin, Kyleigh, Kristin and Catelyn Ballinger; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Paula and Carl Groggins of Oklahoma City and Delia O'Neal of Roland; sister-in-law, Deloris Ballinger of Sallisaw; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, G.W., Carl and Paul Ballinger and three sisters, Vera Queen, Nevada Trotter and Faye Goad.
Pallbearers will be Tom Mendenhall, Rex Whatley, Jerry McMahan, Bill Ford, Doy Wilkins and W.B. Kenner.
Viewing will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
