Evelyn Ross Allen, 78, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Allen was a native of Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and Ocean Springs. She was a member of numerous community and social organizations in Biloxi. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden J. Allen; her parents, Sophie and Amos Ross; and three brothers, Willie D. Ross, Elwood A. Ross and Euless Ross.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Kathleen Allen of Slidell; a stepson, Michael Allen of Slidell; a sister, Alice Barrilleaux of Ocean Springs; four brothers, George E. Ross of LeMesa, Calif., Ernest E. Ross of Biloxi, John L. Ross of Ocean Springs and Wildon E. Ross of Biloxi; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs, with services to follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery, directed by the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home.
