LOCATION: Piqua, OH
Age 92, formerly of Piqua, passed away Sunday morning, June 19, 2011, at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born April 25, 1919, in Concord Township, Ohio, to her parents Raymond & Ruth (Bartel) Holfinger who preceded her in death. She graduated from Newton High School in 1937 and retired as a farmer's wife where she worked in the garden and helped with the livestock. Mary was a member of the original Lockington Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her family during their trips to Canada. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Duane Zimmerman in 1944; her second husband Dale Russell Adams in 2001; and her sister Jean Coate. She will be remember by her children and their spouses Betsy & John Hooper of Baton Rouge, LA, Patricia & David Tiefenbach of Tucson, AZ, Lyle & Rebecca Adams of Piqua, Micky & Gordon Tassin of Port Allen, LA; grandchildren Mike Hooper, Susan Thompson, Casey McCoun, Tim Tiefenbach, Allen Tiefenbach, Christopher Adams, Brian Adams, Tiffany Tassin; 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Fair Haven for the loving care they showed to Mary during her stay with them. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 24, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St, Pleasant Hill. Lynda Adams will officiate with interment following at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Friends and family may gather from 9-11 AM Friday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
