Dortha Taylor Faulkner
Our beloved mother, Dortha "Dot" Taylor Faulkner died in Eagle Mountain, Utah on Tuesday, October 9, 2001.
Dortha was born on June 5, 1908 in Loa, Utah to Lorenzo and Jennie Taylor. She married Charles Huston Faulkner, March 25, 1929 in Provo, Utah.
Following their marriage they resided in Salt Lake for 55 years. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 25, 1977.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many church positions, including a visiting teacher, and Ward Relief Society president at 87 years of age. At 92, she performed over 8,000 name extractions for family history service.
She is survived by six children: Carol, California; Mona, Alpine; Doug (Jackie) Washington State; Glade (Pam) California; Carl (Catherine) Eagle Mountain; and Hugh, California; also, 37 grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren; her sister Mrs. F. Haws (Letha) Durfey, American Fork; brother Gordon (Ramona) Taylor, Lindon; sisters, Mrs. Glade W. (Edna) Taylor, Provo; and Mrs. Keith (Roseanna) Taylor, Teasdale. She was preceded in death by her husband; five sons; Charles, Bob, Billy, Merrill, and Franklin; sisters, Bathsheba and Rose, and four brothers, Hicks, Keith, Glade, and Carl.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at 12 noon in the Eagle Mountain Utah Stake Center, 2977 E. Pony Express Parkway, (Ranches area) Eagle Mountain, Utah. A viewing will be Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork; and one and one half hour prior to the service at the Stake Center. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
