MRS. LAURA ALLEN, PARIS, DIES AT 83
Widow of Late Judge James Allen Was Last of Her Family.

Mrs. Laura Allen, widow of the Judge James Allen, died this morning about 1 o'clock at her home in Paris, according to word received today by Moberly relatives. Funeral services will be held in Paris Sunday morning at 9 o'clock.
Surviving Mrs. Allen are five children, three sons and two daughters, Dr. Fred Allen of O'Keene, Okla., Lucian and Charles Allen of Paris, Mrs. Joe Wayne of Paris and Mrs. Barclay of Chicago. Mrs. Allen was about 83 years old. Mrs. M. J. Lilly, Mrs. Susie Latham, G. F. Rothwell and Rolla R. Rothwell of this city are nieces and nephews of the deceased.
The death of Mrs. Allen is the last in a family of three brothers and five sisters the youngest of whom lived well past the seventy year mark, but one brother and one sister dying before reaching 80 years of age. The late Mrs. E. M. Rothwell, Moberly, oldest of the five sisters, died in her 91st year. Mrs. Allen prior to her marriage was Miss Laura Ragland.
The old Allen homestead is well known to many Moberly people who have camped and fished along the banks of Allen Creek. In recent years the family has lived at Paris.
