If you went back 6 generations in the Paynter family, Lemuel was the brother of my great great great great grand father. He was born in the Lewes Rehoboth hundreth in 1788 to John and Priscilla Paynter. John passed away in 1793. The deposition of his estate can be found in the Delaware State Archives, Dover, Delaware. The deposition mentions his wife Priscilla, his 2 sons Richard & Lemuel and a possible brother of John, Reece Paynter.Delaware land records show that John & Reece both owned land together. Past join I have very little to draw on as to the blood line of John Paynter. I am willing to elaborate more on this subject. Please email me at charlespaynter@verizon.net. Please mention how you are related to Lemuel. I read his obituary and it made not mention to his family, just that he was a good father and a loving husband.
