John Berry, 81, of Baltimore, Maryland formerly of Morton, Illinois and Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 6:55 P.M. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Gilchrist Center for Hospice in Towson, Maryland.

He was born on Saturday, September 8, 1928 in Illinois the son of the late Thomas Edison Berry and Lillian (Dietz) Berry. He married Rosemary A. Billlups on August 1, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2009.

Surviving family members include his 2 brothers: James A. Berry and wife Denise of Lousiville, Kentucky and Dr. Tom Berry of Baltimore, Maryland; nephew: Kris Berry of Louisville, Kentucky and Niece: Kirsten Shell of Louisville, Kentucky.

His parents and his wife preceded him in death.

ARRANGEMENTS:
GRAVESIDE SERVICES: were held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mr. Randy Sells officiated. VISITATION: There was no public visitation held. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
