Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Carolyn Bauer Barnes, 94, of Columbia, who died Friday at Marion County General Hospital.
The Rev. Tom Cupit and the Rev. N. a. Dickson will officiate. Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes, a resident of Columbia for the past 78 years, was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served for 25 years as superintendent of the Primary Department. She was also a longtime member of the As You Like It Club of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Barnes, in 1960, a son, Louis E. Barnes in 1981, and a grandson, Jack Jordan Jr. in 1968.
Survivors include a son, Harry A. Barnes of Columbia; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie B. Stringer and Mrs. Helen B. Jordan, both of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Jean Wright of Alexandria, La.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
