Dolores Patricia Jones Skelton, 81, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Waco.

Dolores was born Feb. 8, 1930, to Allen Wise Jones and Florence Leona Morris in Lott, Falls County, Texas. Dolores was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served many callings throughout her life. She graduated from Baylor University in 1981 and was a teacher in the Chilton and McGregor School Districts. She loved Cash (her puppy), bridge and sports.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Karroll Skelton 1971; and daughter, Rebecca Lynn Skelton Gropp 2008.

She is survived by her sister, Allene Jones of Houston; son, Lloyd Skelton and wife, Lynda, of San Antonio; daughters, Patricia Throckmorton and husband, Gene, of McKinney, Kathy Gilland and husband, Drew, of Arlington, and Dinah Seago and husband, Steve, of San Antonio; and son-in-law, Chris Gropp of Waco. She has 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Memema. She was a witty, loving, giving, and dearly loved lady. She will be missed by so many. Dolores was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Teacher, "Memema" and foremost a Daughter of God.
