SERVIA BLOUNT
Mrs. Servia Blount, 87, a resident of Gladstone for 63 years, died Tuesday at her home in Gladstone following a short illness.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m., in Cochran's Sunset Chapel in Gladstone with Rev. James M. Alley officiating. Internment will be in the family plot at Mt. View Cemetery.
Mrs. Blount was born in Cumrhondda, Wales, April 20, 1877. She came to this country at an early age. Mrs. Blount was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas, pioneer residents of Beavercreek. She married William Albert Blount on June 25, 1898 in a lawn ceremony at her parent's farm. They moved to their new residence in Gladstone in 1901 and she resided there until her death. Mr. Blount preceeded her in death in 1928. Mrs. Blount was a member of the First Christian Church in Gladstone.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jay Myers, West Linn; and Mrs. James Shinkle, Gladstone; one brother, A. B. Thomas, Brookings; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
