Eva "Christine" (nee Farmer) Alsip, age 84, late of Rockdale, Illinois, passed away Friday April 1, 2011 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Christine was a long time member of the Margaret Street Church of Christ in Joliet, IL. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and reading. Her family was very important to her.
Christine was born on Christmas Day in 1926 to Jesse and Bennie Farmer of Belknap, Illinois. She married William "Bill" K. Alsip in January 1946 and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary just prior to Bill's death in January 2005.
She is survived by her children Sherry (Alan) Butterfield of Shorewood, IL, Terry (Cathy) Alsip of Shelbyville, IL, Jessica Ann Blazekovich of Traverse City, MI and Randy (Amber) Alsip of Leland, MI and daughter-in-law Patricia Alsip (James Mitchell Alsip) of Channahon, IL. Also surviving is her youngest sister Rosealla Wright of Anna, IL as well as 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Also preceding her in death are her son James Mitchell Alsip, son-in-law Dennis Blazekovich, great grandson Jacob Louchs, her brother Dan Farmer, and three sisters Kate Lau, Afton Sanders and Bennett Alsip.
Funeral Services: Tuesday April 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.
Burial: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
