A former Bluffton resident, Helen I. Bohr, 87, died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 2006, at Care Manor of Baxter County in Mountain Home, Ark. She had been living in Arkansas since June 2003 and had been a resident of Care Manor since June 2005.
Mrs. Bohr had worked at the Progress Store and Montgomery Ward Store in Bluffton. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton.
She was born March 24, 1918, in Springfield, Ohio, to Harry and Helen (Norris) Welton. She attended Bluffton High School. Her marriage on June 12, 1937, in Bluffton was to John E. Bohr Sr. Her husband of 50 years preceded her in death on July 12, 1987.
Survivors include a son, John E. Bohr Jr. of Mountain Home; a sister, Rachel Gentis of Bluffton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Cotter, Mary Johnson and Bonnie Howell; and two brothers, William Ramsey and Harold Welton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Sprinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Mossburg Cemetery in Liberty Center.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
