My 4th great grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Shadden and his wife Martha, knew you. I've been fortunate to visit the site of your mill and raft down the south fork of the American River. Wishing you blessings and peace.

The Citizens don't even know you are in Lititz, PA. I'm glad my wife Deborah and I found your grave while visit the Beautiful Town of Lititz last year 2003. We lived in California for 18 years before moving back to our home State of Maryland. My wife was born in Pottstown, PA; has family in Williamstown, PA.; and raised in Arnold, Maryland. We enjoyed the State you founded.

John Augustus Sutter and his wife, Anna Dubeld Sutter are my great, great, great, great grandparents on my father's mother's side. My Grandmother was Nellie E. Sutter Normant. There has been a John Augustus Sutter in each generation down to at least my great uncle John A. Sutter the 5th. I think there is a John A. Sutter the 6th but am not sure. John A. Sutter the 2nd was the U.S. Consul to Mexico and married a Mexican woman whose name I do not know but three of their children's name were Carmen, Elena, and John A. Sutter the 3rd.
