Eva Jane Rothrock Stabnau, a native of Harrisburg and longtime resident of York, died peacefully in her sleep in Somerville, NJ, on March 19, 2011. She had suffered a catastrophic injury November 14, 2010, and spent more than 86 days in hospital/rehab prior to her death.

"Jane" as she liked to be called was a graduate of William Harris High School, and married Fred C. Stabnau after World War II. The couple moved to York and Mr. Stabnau eventually became president of Jones Moving and Storage Company and was active in the York Rotary.

After retiring, the couple moved to Jamison Drive. When Mr. Stabnau became ill, they moved to the York Lutheran Home where he died. Jane continued to remain an active member of a senior bowling team and Zion Lutheran Church, eventually moving to New Jersey to be near her daughter, Susan.

Mrs. Stabnau was active in the lives of her two daughters, remained a full time homemaker and volunteered for the American Red Cross for 15 years.

Jane is survived by two daughters, Nancy S. Jones of Ogden, Utah; and Dr. Susan J. Edwards of Pennington, NJ; and two nieces, the former Janet Sweger of Indianapolis, IN, and the former Susan Rothrock of Dallas, TX.

Interment: Mount Rose Cemetery.
