Funeral services for Maxine Bales, 76, of West Plains were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Bales died at 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in Gainesville Health Care Center in Gainesville, Mo. She was born on Nov. 1, 1929, in Bentonville, Ark., to Troy and Ora Strout Dillinger. On Sept. 5, 1947, she was married at Salem, Ark., to Everett Oscar Bales who preceded her in death on May 14, 2003. Mrs. Bales was a member of the Pomona Assembly of God Church. She is survived by two children, Eddie Bales and wife, Terry, of Caulfield, Mo., and Eloise Davis and husband, Jerry, of Tempe, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Rochelle Harden and husband, John, Sherri Dunn and husband, William, Tiffany Smith and husband, Stephen, and Josh Davis; four great-grandchildren, Michael Kuk, Tori Hensley, Colton Smith and Kayli Smith; one brother, Lloyd Dillinger and wife, Betty, of Raytown, Mo.; three sisters, Lorene Bales of West Plains, Mo., Nova Dillinger of Mountain View, Mo., and Wanda Ferguson and husband, Bob, of Mountain View, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Bales precede her in death. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial was held at Bakersfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bakersfield Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
