Mrs. Couvillion , 79, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Rapides Parish, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Mrs. Couvillion was a former resident of Alexandria and moved to Baton Rouge 15 years ago. Mae graduated from Wellington (Texas) High School with the Class of 1948. She was a retired high school and college librarian, having taught at Alexandria Senior High School, Peabody High School and Rapides High School, LSU-Alexandria and Northwestern State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Henry Couvillion Jr.; and parents, Otis E. Harper and Eva Sanders Harper . She is survived by a daughter, Evita Guzhan Couvillion , of Baton Rouge; two brothers, C.D. Harper , of Longview, Texas, and A.C. Harper , of Baytown, Texas; three sisters, I.V. Harper McClaskey, of Euless, Texas, Mary Mims Harper Clark, of San Antonio, and Sue Harper Wilson, of Crosbyton, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
