I grew up in Marion,SC and there is a statue of "The Swamp Fox" there. We were known as the Marion High Swamp Foxes. Our high school ring was to have been fashioned after a button found on Francis Marion's uniform. It had the snake for freedom and 13 stars for the 13 original colonies. We, from Marion, take great pride in knowing Marion was named for Francis Marion. We all felt like he was part of our family. He will always be a part of our life. I am a member of the DAR because one of my ancestors, Esli Hunt: "He was at the battle of Kings Mountain - the officers under whom he served were Capt. George Russell - Major Jonathan Tipton & Walton & Charles Robinson & Col. Sevier -Col William Campbell was the commanding officer at the battle, where Col. Ferguson was defeated -some short time after this battle Col Sevier's men were discharged and on their return home they understood that the Indians were making an incursion into the Country - they were immediately collected by Col. Sevier who attacked the party of Indians and killed thirteen of their number - the troops were thus marched into South Carolina to join Genl Francis Marion on the Santee -". My heart beats with pride, as one of my ancestors was part of Francis Marion's Group. May they all rest in piece and may we always honor them.

May GOD Bless You!::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::It is on Major General Benjamin Butler's in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, the monument reads."the true touchstone of civil liberty is not that all men are equal but that every man has the right to be the equal of every other man - if he can."*NOTE* Middlesex County, Commonwealth of Massachusetts has two county seats. Lowell is one. What is the other one ?Do youall know of any other US Counties which do too?**********"They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies" . ~William Penn~
