STERLING – Xavier Delgado, 8-month-old son of Rudy and Melissa Delgado, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 26, 2009, in Sterling, the son of Rudy and Melissa (Estrada) Delgado.

Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Braydon J. Delgado and Marcus A. Delgado; his maternal grandmother, Mary Estrada of Sterling; his paternal grandparents, Dora (Larry) Lifka of Rock Falls and Rudy (Renee) Delgado of Sterling; his paternal great-grandmother, Connie Delgado of Sterling; his aunts, Lesha (Justin Neal) Lifka and Crystal (Chris) Rodriguez; his uncle, Andy (Emily) Pierceson; and his cousins, Kaydin, Kaylee, Alexis, and Edmond.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Xavier Regalado; his maternal great-grandparents; and his paternal great-grandparents.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Donald Ahles officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, 505 First Ave., Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the family.
