The Star Herald Kosciusko, Ms. March 17, 1955Mrs. Rosetta Duke Funeral Rites Held, Oak Grove ChurchLast rites were held at Oak Grove church Sunday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. Rosetta Hearon Duke, respected matron of the Poplar Creek community, who died at her home there Friday after an illness of five years. She was 84.Native of Webster county, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Hearon. She made her home at Poplar Creek almost all her life. She was the widow of the A.J. Duke & was a member of the New Hope Adventist Christian Church.In charge of funeral services was Rev. L.E. Bailey. Burial was in New Hope cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home.Pallbearers were T.L. Moss, Clyde Ray, Eris Duke, Russell Duke, Kimble Duke & A.J. Duke.She leaves a daughter, Mrs. R.K. Philly of Kosciusko; 5 sons, Grover Duke, & T.M. Duke, Poplar Creek, Vester Duke, Kosciusko, Will Duke, Eupora, & Albert Duke, French Camp; a sister, Mrs. Ella Leonard, West & a half sister, Mrs. Robbie Thornton, Poplar Creek & a half brother, G. Hearon, Carthage.
