Mother Laura Elizabeth McCullar-Castleberry was the oldest daughter of three children. Born to the late Columbus (Jack) and Ruth Miller McCullar. She was born in the year of our Lord in 1914 on the 31st day of July.

In 1931 she went to Troupe, Texas and met a young man, Mr. Love Charles Castleberry. On July 21, 1933 they were married. they worked crops for two years with his brother Bud and Willie Ann Castleberry. The Lord called Love Castleberry to the ministry under the late D. L. Smith in Henry Chapel. The Lord told him to move to Henderson, Texas away from kinfolks. They worked side by side with their children, in their home and in the church. The Superintendent and Love Charles and Mother Laura Elizabeth Castleberry have had churches in several Texas cities and towns; Mount Enterprise, Tempson, Arp, Jackson, Spring Hill, Stringtown, Henderson, Terrell, Fort Worth (Stop 6), Longview and Daingerfield.

Mother Castleberry was an example and role model for all women. She loved God, family, saints, and people. She would cook for the family and others. And she always consulted the Lord about different situations in her life.

She lived in Tacoma, Washington for eighteen months working with the local, district and state, where Bishop Westbrook was presiding bishop, Mother Lola Young was the Supervisor of Women and Supt. James Watson, Pastor.

Mother Castleberry was a pastor's wife of fifty four years and eight months and a First Lady for more than fifty years. State Helping Hand President, State Minister's Wives member, State Choir member, State Hospitality memeber, District Choir President, Licensed Missionary, International Women's Convention Minister's Wives Choir member and the third president, state public relations president and member. International Prayer Warrior, District Missionary, District Chairman of Finance, Local Church Mother, Exective Director/Principal of Golden Gate Day care and Youth Center for over twenty years, Member and treasurer of the Carverly Heights Courtesy Club and sponsored shut-in's for local church.

She was called Mama Cass by many. Mother Cass was preceded in death by her Late Husband, Superintendent Love Charles Castleberry and three children; Charles Edward Castleberry, Rathell Castleberry, Christine Elizabeth Castleberry. Those left with many sweet memories are six (6) children; Bernice Castleberry Locklin, Johnny Lee Castleberry (Bobbie), Royalene Castleberry, Walter Earl Castleberry (Climonce), Donald Ray Castleberry (Mary), Gregory Stephen Castleberry (Janice), Beulah Thomas (God-daughter), eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
