JOHANN "MICHAEL" STIGLER, known as Michael Stigler, was born Sunday, 19 June 1814, in Mantlach, a very small village in Oberpfalz area of north eastern Bavaria, Germany, which is a bit north of Regensburg. He was a son of Johann Michael Stigler's second marriage, to Katharina Edenharter. He emigrated to America in July, 1850, came by boat from New York to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he married Maria Anna Ostermann. They lived in Brookfield Township in Waukesha County for six years, after which time they bought acreage in New Berlin, Wisconsin, eventually owning about 200 acres of farm land. Mike and Maria Anna Stigler had seven children.
Mike died on 11 April 1900 of pneumonia, of 4 days duration, at the age of 85 years. His parentage is not listed on the death certificate, but I have since located records of his parentage and ancestry. He is buried at Holy Apostles Church Cemetery in New Berlin, Wisconsin
