Patricia I. Sanders, 61, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. As per her wishes, cremation will take place following the service Thursday. Patricia was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Richard A. and Sophia I (Price) Massengill.
She married Timothy R. Sanders on April 30, 1966 in Durant, Okla. The couple lived in Germany and Ames, Iowa, before settling in Sioux City. She was employed at Matney Morningside Manor for many years.
In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling, painting and scrapbooking. She had a special place in her heart for animals and the elderly.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; five children, Mike Sanders and his wife, Belinda of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mark Sanders of North Sioux City, Chris Sanders of Sioux City, Cheri and her husband, Kevin Johnson of Sioux City and Richard Sanders of Sioux City; a sister, Elizabeth Peter of Cabizon, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Israel, Erica, Seth, Joshua, Aaron, Bryce, Josiah and Taylor; and a great-grandchild, Evan Delaney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and her father and mother-in-law, Leslie and Darlene Sanders.
