JOHN WESLEY COOK
---John Wesley Cook was born in Peoria County, Illinois November 7, 1850. He was married to Martha E. Severden, October 19, 1879. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Cassie Binnings, Mrs. Lena Thompson and George W. Cook who still remains at home; also five grandchildren, Marie, Velma and Lloyd Billings, Claur and Irene Thompson; four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Cultra of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Hannah Wilson of Hamilton, Ohio and Mrs. Belle Hern of Kansas.
---He professed religion at a meeting held in La Plata in the year 1883. He had been a sufferer for several years with malignant cancer and passed to rest September 1, 1919, aged sixty-eight years, nine months and twenty-five days.
---The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian Church by Rev. Johnson of Callao and Rev. F.L. Hudson.
