"MRS CATHERINE METCALF-HOSKINS
Mrs Catherine Metcalf-Hoskins, 99, of 237 Watson St, died in a local hospital Saturday morning. A native of Lockeford, she had been a life long member of the United brethren Church in which her father had been minister. She and her late husband, John D Hoskins, farmed for many years on part of the old family homestead near Lockeford.
Her parents, Reuben and Margaret Metcalf, had moved to CA in 1857. She attended Stanford University in 1890 and graduated from a midwestern college. She taught school in the Lodi area and in Washington, where she met and married her husband. She is survived by three nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday in the Chapel of Humphrey's East Pine Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Lodi Memorial Mausoleum."
