Service for Max Barnett, 63, of Pollok were held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Saffle and the Rev. James O. Forrest officiating. Interment followed in Huntington Cemetery.
Mr. Barnett was born August 27, 1928 in Angelina County and died Saturday in Pollok. He retired as a truck driver with Great Western. Mr. Barnett resided in Angelina County most of his life. He was a veteran of the Army and Navy Air Force. Mr. Barnett was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife, Shirlean Barnett; daughters, Maxine Kelley and Barbara Thompson; sons, William and Emmett Barnett, Gary Gee, Larry Gee and Randy Reeves; brother, Robert K. Barnett; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
