Thomas Silverthorn living in New Jersey, was loyal to Britain during the Revolutionary War. The affair at Trenton prevented him from joining the British Army. He was fined & imprisoned, put in irons, his farm in N.J. was confiscated and he [REMOVE] died before he could emigrate of Upper Canada]. He emigrated to Upper Canada where he died in 1788. (Affirmed in the Upper Canada Land Petitions of his wife and son John). Thomas Silverthorn is a designated United Empire Loyalist. His wife Johanna Newman and son's emigrated in 1786 to Stamford, Niagara, Canada.
