Mrs. Dorothy Cladwell Toms, 87, of Legore, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 15, 1917 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late John and Effie Burdette Trout. She was the wife of the late Harvey Martin Toms Sr., who died in 1989. Mrs. Tomas was a member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore. She was formerly employed at Cambridge Rubber Co., Taneytown, for 12 years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Surviving are four daughters, Alice Callari of Taneytown, Shirley Young of Lewisville, Texas, Terry Saula and husband Milan of New Market, Wanda Stokes and husband John of Hagerstown; four sons, Harvey M. Toms Jr. and wife Margaret of Frederick, James L. Toms and wife Mary of Smithsburg, Eugene H. Toms and wife Freda of Legore, Michael W. Toms and wife Deborah of Port Republic; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with the Rev. Fred Horner, pastor of Wakefield Valley Bible Church near New Windsor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Legore.
