She was born November 13, 1918, in Barren County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Willie T. and Edna T. Jones Curtis.
She married Guy Smith in Tompkinsville, Ky., and they later divorced. She married Cecil Emery Brittain in 1945 in Tompkinsville, and he died in 1971.
Mrs. Brittain worked at Mallory, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Church of Christ and Moose and Eagles lodges in Frankfort. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana C. Elliott and Ginger L. Sandage, a son, Dale A. Brittain, and a sister, Reva Best, all of Frankfort; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Brittain; a broter, Terrell Curtis; and a sister Hila Woodruff.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.
