JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Mr. Larry Edward Barrs, 54, died Nov. 29, 2006 in a Jacksonville hospital. Larry was a native of Statesboro and has lived in the Jacksonville area since 1955. He attended the Church of God, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed for 20 years with Simmons Mattress Company. Larry enjoyed fishing, various sports, particularly on television, and was a very accomplished artist.

Survivors include his parents, Daniel Lawrence and Gerrie Barrs; two children, Kristopher Barrs and Joshua Barrs and their mother, Gail; two grandchildren, Austin and Kayci; one brother, Daniel Barrs; two nephews, Daniel III and Kevin; two great-nieces, Ashley and Danielle; one great-nephew, Preston.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006, in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro with the Rev. Wayne Swanson officiating. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
