Carol A. Benson, 69 of Markle passed away on Monday, September 6, 2009 at her home. She was a 1959 graduate of Central High School in Fort Wayne. She was the previous owner of the Gateway Restaurant in Markle. She had worked at McJohn Photo in Fort Wayne and had also worked in food service at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo and the company of her pets.
She was born on July 26, 1940 in Allen County the daughter of Jake and Alice (Kemp) Wingert.
Survivors include a son: Michael and wife Linda Benson of Markle; a brother: Bud and wife Peggy Kemp of Coldwater, Michigan and two grandchildren: Benjamin Benson and Emelia Benson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating.
Interment will be at a later date.
Memorials are to Diabetes Association or to Huntington County Animal Shelter both in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
