Janet K. Albertson, age 73, of Fort Wayne, died at 9:00 a.m., Monday (May 10, 2010), at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Janet was born on July 26, 1936, in Huntington, the daughter of Dale and M. Pauline Baker. She graduated from Union Township High School in 1954 and went on to earn her Register Nursing Degree from Parkview Nursing School in 1957. Janet married Richard L. Albertson on August 17, 1957 in Huntington and he survives.
Janet was a Registered Nurse in Huntington County for 45 years. She was also the former Director of Nursing at Norwoods Health and Rehabilitation and Community Care. Janet was a member of the Fort Wayne Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years – Richard L. Albertson of Fort Wayne; four sons – Dennis L. (Cynthia) Albertson of Hamilton, Indiana, Jeffrey W. (Deanna) Albertson of Huntington, Timothy J. (Tiffany) Albertson of Andrews, Harold D. (Danielle) Albertson of Huntington; one daughter – Deborah L. (Dean) Brankle of Marion, Indiana; one sister – Sara Braun of Huntington; one brother – John L. (Joy) Baker of Huntington; one sister-in-law – Carole Baker of Huntington; nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kenneth Baker.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. on Thursday (May 13, 2010) at Bailey–Love Mortuary. The Funeral Service will then be held at 10 a.m. Friday (May 14, 2010) at the Bailey–Love Mortuary with Elder – Michael Green officiating. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
