Son of Joseph (b. 1714 Groton, MA, d. 1799 Rindge, NH), married Abigail Shedd // he was son of Jonathan (b. 1677 Watertown, MA, d. 1751 Groton), married Mary Hagar // he was son of John (b. 1631 Watertown, d. 1711), married Faith Dunster // he was son of John (b. England 1589, came to America in 1630, d. Watertown, MA 1676), married Phebe Paine.

A fifer and Major musician in the Rev. War. Died "honored and respected by his fellow townsmen, not only for his patriotism and general disposition, but also for his observance of duties whereby he maintained his principles by action, and this greatly aided in securing the independence of our country." He moved from Rindge to Keene in 1816 and in April 1817 moved to Surry.

Married 2nd on June 26, 1798, Polly Paige, daughter of James and Mary (Stone), b. Hardwick, MA 7/26/1766, d. 11/26/1853 in Boston?
