FOSSIL – Richard Daly, 95, of Fossil died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at the Respite Room in Haven House Retirement Center at Fossil. Graveside service with military honors will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Fossil.

Mr. Daly was born Sept. 24, 1915, in Leavenworth, Wash., the son of Samuel George and Mabel Adaline Hinman Daly. His family was involved in the logging and sawmills business.

On July 3, 1942, he married Rachel Runyan. Both had been married previously. Not many months after their wedding, Mr. Daly enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving his country during World War II.

He worked as a salesman for his brother Jack's Industrial Pump Company for many years before retiring to Fossil.

Mr. Daly is survived by daughters Jean Marrs, Mary Thompson, Sharon Solseng and Joyce Pierson; sister Marjorie Gustafson; 16 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
