H. Felix Vigil, known to the older folks as Honorio, 70, longtime resident of Villanueva, N.M. and former resident of Albuquerque, passed to a better life Dec. 13, 2010 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M.

He was born in Villanueva on January 10, 1940, to the late Crisostomo Vigil and Adelaida Ortiz Vigil who survives him.

He was united in marriage at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva on December 29, 1961 to Antonia Lucero.

He retired from the Job Corps in Albuquerque, where he was employed in Administration. He was a member of the Mora/San Miguel Electric Cooperative, board member of the Commission of the Blind, board member of State Wide Independent Living Counsel and Finance Counsel of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He directed the Job Corps, promoted and was General Director for the Southwest Region of Teleydne Corporation, Director of the TVI Skill Center in Albuquerque, director and teacher at the West Las Vegas Valley Schools and bilingual rrogram for West Las Vegas Schools, second president of the Hispano Chamber of Commerce and active member of LULAC.

A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva.

He was preceded in death by his father: Crisostomo T. Vigil; son: Michael Lucero; sisters: Rosaleen Vigil, Marie Vigil and Josephine Vigil.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Antonia "Tonie" Vigil of Villanueva; his mother: Adelaida Vigil of Villanueva; brothers and sisters: George Vigil and wife Catherine of Los Alamos, Steven Vigil and wife Rose Ann of Denver, Colo., Leroy Vigil and wife Jacaranda of Mejia, Texas, Palmyra Gallegos and husband Delfido of La Fragua, N.M., Annabelle Encinias and husband Larry of Villanueva and Joyce Chavez and husband Mike of Peralta, N.M.; special nephew: Christopher Encinias of Villanueva; brothers and sisters-in-law: Albert Lucero-Garcia, Servando Lucero, Josie Torrez and Leroy and Sadie Lucero all of Villanueva and Martha McElroy and husband Danny of Taos, N.M., Margaret Montaño and husband Jerry of Santa Fe, Isidoro Lucero III of Grandberry, Texas, Carmen Bohannon and husband Earl of Albuquerque, Anabelle Sena and husband Larry of Santa Fe, Emilia Bowen and husband Pat of Corrales, N.M., George Torrez and wife Josie of Albuquerque, Oliver Torrez and Christine of Las Vegas and Agnes Lucero of Santa Fe; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva with Father Thomas Kayammakal as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Villanueva with the following serving as casket bearers: Jeffrey Vigil, Christopher Encinias, Danny Lee Torrez, Robert Martinez, Patrick Gallegos, Oliver Torrez, Bobby Gutierrez and Michelle Griego. Serving as honorary bearers: Brittany Ortega and Sonia Griego.
