Edgar L. Bowman, 65, a 57-year Dallas resident and old-time horseshoer for nearly 50 years, died Monday at his home, 2916 Carlisle. Services will be Wednesday. Burial in Oakland Cemetery with the Dallas Masonic Lodge in charge.
He was born in Canton, Illinois, and was brought to Dallas when a child. For a while, he drove an old-fashioned hack for a local undertaker. Later, while still a boy, he began shoeing horses and remained in that trade until shoeing his last horse four weeks ago. Survived by his wife, son, stepson, two brothers, and two sisters, all of Dallas.
