Mr. Sharp was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific as a sergeant in the United States Marines. He had a great love for the State of Texas. Mr. Sharp was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Charlene Sharp of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, John David and Elaine Sharp of Fort Worth; daughter, Laura Lee Sharp of Fort Worth; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Curlee.
Graveside services for Mr. Sharp will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Berry Cemetery, with Bro. Jimmy Runnels officiating.
