Rev. Amos Ballenger, age 78, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late Miles and Mamie Lou Butler Ballenger.
He was a member of the Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Wellford, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Ms. Annie Pearl Ballenger of the home; two sons, Mr. Rodney Ballenger of Duncan, SC and Mr. Angelo Wendell Ballenger of Boiling Springs; a stepson, Mr. Billy Benard Johnson of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Ms. Linda Carol Howard of Kansas City, MO; a stepdaughter, Ms. Annie Darlene Myers of Fountain Inn, SC; one sister, Ms. Louise Durrah of Wellford, SC; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service for Rev. Amos Ballenger will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 995 Little Mount Road, Wellford, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
